My first and next-to-last basketball assignment of 2008 was the Florida vs. Georgia Southern game at the O’Connell Center on Dec. 22. It was a little rough at first, but I managed to do okay. I shot with only my Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. I wanted some interesting shots of things that were close that I normally couldn’t do with a telephoto. Then again, you loose some stuff from far away. That’s a disadvantage of having only one camera body.

I has been nearly two months since I have made a blog post. I have been extremely busy these last few weeks. The multimedia editorship at the Alligator has taken a lot of my time and focus, and the same with school. I have a lot of catching up to do in the school front. I hope to make more posts when possible for the remaining four to five weeks left of the semester. Damn, it feels like the term just started.

ESPN came to Gainesville in the scorching heat on Thursday. They were not there to cover a game, but to see if Gainesville should be declared “Titletown.” Gainesville is one of 20 stops that the cable sports network is making to do a taped feature of the city. ESPN reporter and journalism school grad Erin Andrews talked to quarterback Tim Tebow as dozens of fans young and old cheered. Here are a few photos…

I was given an interesting assignment for Saturday. The UF Women’s Rugby Club planned on having a match for charity and it involved old dresses. It’s something that happens annually at UF and it was one that gave an opportunity for good photos.
